Message Compression

Catenis supports HTTP data compression that is configurable and enabled by default in the API clients distributed by Blockchain of Things, Inc. Disabling compression is optional. Compression defaults to a minimum threshold of 1024 bytes. The minimum threshold can be set by the user however, one should keep in mind that compressing smaller amounts of data can actually increase the size of the content being transmitted.

It is encouraged to use compression and never disable it since if one is sending binary data in the form of files and documents that data will be encoded as base64 and compression can significantly reduce the size of such content.
